Deanship of Student Affairs held the Celebration of His Excellency University Rector's Award for Alqura'an Alkareem Memorization Competition for all university female and male students. Alquraan Alkareem Memorization Society in Almajmaah, Alquraan Alkareem Memorization Society in Alzulfi, Alquraan Alkareem Memorization Society in Alghaat, Alquraan Alkareem Memorization Society in Hootat Sadeer and Alquraan Alkareem Memorization Society in Remah participated in the contest as the contestants reach (150) female and male students. The contest aims to bring into view the role the university plays in attaching so much importance to the Noble Qura'an, teaching it to female and male students as well as deepening cooperation and connection between the University and society institutions. Moreover, such a contest links female and male students with the Noble Qura'an recitation, memorization and inculcation in their character and conduct. It helps cultivate students' talents and benefit from different experiences and discover beautiful voices in recitation in order to develop their skills. The celebration commenced with some verses from the Noble Qura'an by the student Abdullah Alne'ami. Then, it was followed by the speech of his Excellency Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Hamad Alghemeizi who mentioned the Alqura'an Alkareem competition is a motive for more efforts and patience in memorizing the Noble Qura'an, its interpretation and intonation (tajweed). He added that this will also prepare them for working by it and applying all its directions in their life, and will encourage them to memorize it which will be embodied in their character and conduct as the Qurra'an elevates people. Dr. Alghemeizi highlights the point that the Noble Qura'an is the constitution of Islam and it contains all the principles of Islam so we must pay so much attention to it in memorization, intonation and interpretation and know all its rules and judgments in order to work by it. After that, the head of Alquran Alkareem Memorization Society Mr. Ibrahim Alaqeel delivered a speech on behalf of the participatory societies where he extended thanks and appreciation to University Rector for his concerns and sponsorship of the contest. Alqeel added that Alqura'an Alkhareem Memorization societies are very keen to take part in such contests as they open opportunities for the societies to convey the message and achieve their objectives. Then, samples of recitations by participatory students were presented in the contest. In the end, his Excellency university Rector presented a speech in which he offered his thanks to the government of the custodian of the two holy moaques King Abdullah Abdulaziz, the Crown prince his highness Prince Salman Abdulaziz, his highness Prince Muqrin Abdulaziz, the second deputy for the importance and attention they pay to the Noble Qura'an. The direction of this country has been towards hard work on inculcating the love and memorization of Qura'an in our sons, and therefore Alqura'an Alkareem Memorization Societies have been established, organized and they have been an important part of the country. After that, winners in the contest were honored, and some memorable photos were taken with his Excellency the University Rector.
