THE UNIVERSITY SPONSORS THE BOOK ‘ A CONCISE HISTORY OF SAUDI ARABIA’ AND SIGNS TWO MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING

Majmaah university represented by Vice Rector for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research sponsors the printing and publication of the book authored by Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Al-Qassim Region, "A Concise History of Saudi Arabia 1157 H – 1438 H". This comes as in an attempt of the university to heed the glorious history of Saudi and disseminate the historical, cultural, and cognitive knowledge. The signing session took place at the Governor’s office in Buraidah, in the presence of Dr. Khaled bin Saad Al-Muqrin, MU Rector.On the sideline of the signing session, two memorandum of understanding were also signed in two different fields. The first memorandum of understanding was signed between Social Responsibility Observatory (SRO) represented by the Vice Rector, Head of Social Responsibility Observatory, Dr. Musallam bin Mohammad Al-Dosri, and the General Administration of Education in Qassim represented by the Director Abdullah Al-Rkian. The aim of the memorandum is to promote the culture of social responsibility and to strengthen the university role in serving the community in the field of social responsibility, quality, and everything related to education. Another memorandum of understanding was signed with Al-Rajhi Museum represented by Abdulrahman Al-Rajhi, and the University Astronomical Observatory represented by Vice-Rector Dr. Musallam Al-Dosair. The objectives of the memorandum is to promote the culture of sighting the crescent via a series of workshops. The objectives also included the help to establish astronomical observatory in AlBakkiria and benefit from the advanced capacities of MU in this field. On this occasion the Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Qassim Governor, commended the efforts made by MU in social responsibility, and the great growth achieved in the university scientific, academic, and social fields. Qassim Governor also was also filled with admiration for the role of MU in local development in various fields as well as in operating the principles of community partnership with different sectors, as he hoped that these partnerships will have a great impact for the benefit of the development. He also extended his appreciation to MU for sponsoring his book which contribute in disseminating the Saudi history. By the same token, Dr. Khaled bin Saad Al-Muqrin, MU Rector, expressed his happiness for sponsoring the Qassim Governor’s book as well as signing the two important memorandum of understanding. Dr. Al-Muqrin indicated that MU opens new prospects of collaboration with governmental and private sectors to achieve one of the main university objectives: provide excellent service with a positive impact to the community.
