A SEMINAR HELD BY SPECIAL NEEDS SERVICES CENTER

The Special Needs Services Center at the Social Responsibilities Observatory held a seminar in cooperation with the Department of Special Education at the College of Education in Majmaah, entitled "Awareness then Empowerment". 

The seminar, which was conducted on the World Autism Awareness Day, addressed different topics related to autism spectrum disorder and how to deal with it. The seminar featured four primary topics and they are early signs and indicators of autism spectrum disorder, analysis of behavioral problems for children with autism, interventions based on scientific evidence and research, and hard facts about this disorder.

The seminar was moderated by Dr. Aymen Al-Swayel, Assistant Professor in special education department, and was presented by a group of speakers, and they are: Dr. Asma Al-Zahrani, head of special education department, Dr. Hajer Al-Mutlaq, Assistant Professor, and two postgraduate students: Nora Al-Thumairi and Arwa Al-Buraik.
