The College of Nursing, represented by the Volunteering and Community Service Unit, organized an awareness session titled "Sleep as Medicine: The Science of Rest and Its Impact on Public Health,". The session was presented by Dr. Amira Yahya, Assistant Professor at the College of Nursing. The session was held via the Irtiqa Platform and targeted the local community.
The lecture addressed the importance of adequate sleep and its role in enhancing both physical and mental health, as well as the consequences of sleep deprivation on individuals and society. It covered the negative effects on physical and psychological health, such as reduced concentration, increased risk of chronic diseases, and the impact on daily productivity.
The goal of the session was to raise awareness about the necessity of healthy sleep and emphasize its positive effect on quality of life.
