Within the framework of the scientific activity and production it has adopted the University of Majmaah organizes a scientific forum under the banner: Gulf Universities Forum and Social Responsibility, Strategic Visions and effective practices , and that in the period from 11-13 Safar 1437 AH, corresponding to 22/11/2015 AD to 24/11/2015 AD. His Excellency the Vice Rector, Dr. Musalam bin Mohammed Al-Dosari, mentioned that in line with the university's strategy towards top professionalism in executing the tasks assigned to it, and based on the supporting directive of His Excellency the University Rector for this orientation, the university applied for the Ministry of Education to approve the organization of the Forum. Accordingly, and upon the approval of the Ministry the University Rector, the chairman of the organizing committee of the forum, agreed to form the preparatory committee for holding the forum which gave birth to a number of operating and specialized sub-committees. HE the Rector also said that the forum aims to achieve a number of objectives, the most important of which are: • defining the concept of social responsibility in universities. • Presenting social responsibility practices in the internal and external communities of universities. • clarifying the roles of universities in the achievement of social responsibility. • diagnosing the challenges and difficulties which face universities and local communities in achieving social responsibility. • proposing high quality initiatives for universities in social responsibility. • activating the partnership between universities and the private sector in the areas of social responsibility. • Identifying the factors influencing the growth of the role of universities in the field of social responsibility. • Reviewing the global efforts and experiences in the field of social responsibility. • proposing a conception of social responsibility in gulf universities His Excellency pointed out that these goals will be achieved by working on a number of key themes in the conference which include: • The first axis: the areas of social responsibility in gulf universities. • The second axis: the experiences and challenges of social responsibility in gulf universities. •The third Axis: Trends and Future Visions of social responsibility in gulf universities. His Excellency ,the Vice Rector, explained in his statement that the approval of the ministry to enable Majmaah University to hold this event is a testament to its excellent status which comes from the great role it plays in the enlightenment and development processes inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This position is also an indicator of the confidence senior officials have in the capabilities and potentials of the university. His Excellency called upon all the components of Majmaah University to interact with this important event. At the conclusion of his statement, His Excellency the Vice Rector, Dr. Musalam bin Mohammed Al Dosari, thanked the University Rector for his continuous support for all that would raise the rank of the university at all levels.
