Sponsored by the Rector PMO Sets a Lecture Entitled "Project Management Offices in the Construction and Projects Sector (Opportunities, Challenges and Tools)

Sponsored by the Rector and in the presence of a number of guests from various governmental sectors, the PMO set  a lecture entitled "Project Management Offices in the Construction and Projects Sector (Opportunities, Challenges and Tools)" presented by the Engineer Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Suhali the lecturer at the college of Computer knowledge and Information and projects Management Consultant at the university. He began the lecture with defining project management and a brief summary of what are the offices of project management and its impact on helping to reduce the projects failure.
Then, he went on to talk about the project management methodologies and its level cycle and then the corporate planning and importance of recording the advantages of implementing projects to be a standardised reference to be used in future projects. After that, he spoke about the urgent need for the Project management offices due to the high increase of project failure and due to its ability of meticulous planning and with continuous tracking that help to reduce these obstacles. Then the lecturer mentioned a number of project management offices forms such as support, guidance and control, appropriate forms are selected according to number of criterion; the most important which the nature of the organisation, its organisational structure and the roles and responsibilities entrusted to it.
At the end of the lecture HE the Vice Rector pointed to the importance of such lectures that help in spreading the culture of project management and contribute to spread awareness needed to keep up with the continuous development in the field of project management and mitigation of its problems and risks.
