University participated ,represented by His Excellency the Vice Rector Dr. Mosalam M. Al Dosari, in the meetings of the work team composed of a number of universities and institutions of the Gulf of Higher Education to re examine a proposal to adjust the awards in universities and higher education institutions in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The meeting was held at the Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University on Monday and Tuesday, 25-26 / 5 / 1436.
In this context, Dr. Mosalam M. Al Dosari pointed out that the chairmen of committee, rectors of universities, and institutions of higher education in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has acknowledged in the twentieth meeting, which was held in Kuwait, to form a work team comprised from a number of universities and institutions of the Gulf of Higher Education such as (Majmaah University, King Khalid University, UAE University, Bahrain University, Qatar University, Sultan Qaboos University, the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training in Kuwait, in addition to the Princess Noura bint Abdulrahman University, the team leader,), and tha was to reexamine this issue in accordance to the proposal suggested by the Princess Nora bint Abdulrahman University to include the main components (Education, Scientific Research and Community Service).
The Vice Rector pointed out that the team has made a draft for the mechanism proposed. The Cooperation Council Secretariat for Gulf Arab countries will provide the universities and institutions of higher education with a copy of the draft to do their necessary comments on the condition that the team at any next meeting should do modifications based on these comments to be presented to committee chairmen and the University Rectors and institutions of Higher Education in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) next meeting. Dr. Al Dosari indicated that the main aim from forming this team is to achieve comprehensive vision for the award covering the components which was indicated to them previously and identify the benefits from the prize, and finally it should be based on clear and measurable standards which it is hoped to be achieved through this meeting.
