يُعنى هذا المجال بتقديم الأبحاث العلمية التي تعمل على دراسة الاحتياجات والمشكلات المجتمعية وتقديم الحلول لها. ومن الدراسات المٌقدمة في هذا المجال بالتعاون مع الشركاء دراسات تخدم الاحتياجات التنموية للمرأة، والطفل، والاحتياجات التنموية للأسرة، ودراسات تخدم مدى تأثير الجامعة في إحداث التنمية في نطاقها الجغرافي، ومن أمثلة الدراسات المقدمة:
