THE RECTOR REVIEWS A NUMBER OF REPORTS DURING THE ADVISORY MEETING

The advisory meeting of the university, which was chaired by the Rector, Dr. Khalid S. Al-Mugren and attended by an assortment of vice-rectors, deans of colleges and deanships and directors of administration, was held at the conference hall of college complex in Zulfi.

In his welcoming speech, the Rector pointed out that the purpose of the meeting is to create an environment where critical point of views are exchanged at the university level and contribute in the evaluation of work and to identify the latest developments at the university in the academic and administrative.

Mr. Waleed Al-Bisher, general secretary reviewed the agenda of the meeting. The meeting began with a speech delivered by the Dean of IT Deanship, Dr. Omar M. Al-Mutaihi who explicated the developmental phases the e-portal has gone through until the current version which is deemed an integrated portal in accordance with the international criteria. The current version of the e-portal comprises more than forty sub-sites for all the departments of the University. Dr. Al-Mutaihi also mentioned some statistics about the e-portal. Dr. Al-Mutaihi eventually extended his thanks and appreciations to whoever contributed with substance and value in the works related to the 4th version of the e-portal, particularly His Excellency the Rector, Dr. Khalid S. Al-Mugren, vice-rectors, deans, directors of departments and e-portal supervisors.

Dr. Musallam Al-Dosari, Vice-Rector and the supervisor of e-learning deanship gave a presentation about the translation system of the e-portal content which received a wide range of admirations.

Dr. Mohammad Al-Sweid, Dean of Scientific Research presented the 1st operational plan report which included the strategic objectives of the plan which was admired and thanked by the Rector.

A report was also presented about the 5th Scientific Conference at College of Science & Humanities in Hawtat Sudair by Dr. Tariq Al-Bahlal which was also admired by the Rector for the invaluable efforts by all the college staff.

Dr. Hisham Al-Saqeer, Dean of Computer Science and Information reviewed a proposal for a system for following up the applications of academic positions which also received a great deal of praise by the Rector who suggested the development of the system to be a general policy for the university.
