The pillars of renaissance for any nation are its pure youth, scientists and researchers who draw the future and plan for the nation’s prosperity and progress. The safe incubators to for the care of all progress in our societies are the Higher Education and Scientific Research in the universities, institutes and centers scattered throughout the kingdom. The wise leadership of the Kingdom was aware of this when allocated the amount of over 168 billion Saudi Riyals from the state budget of 2012G, which was estimated by about 702 billion Saudi Riyals, for the public education sector, higher education and workforce training. This year state budget is considered the largest financial allocations in the history of the Kingdom. These allocations represent more than 24% of the current budget approved expenditures, with increase by 13% over what was allocated to the sector in the budget last year.
Dr. Ibrahim Bin Abdul Rahman Al Hugail - Vice Rector and Chairman of the Committee to
discuss budget - attributed the prosperity enjoyed by the Kingdom to the call of Abraham - peace be upon him - that ensured our country's security & safety, and the abundance of good living in all its forms, as well as efforts of the Kingdom’s leadership. Dr. Al Hugail raised his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz - may Allah protect him - and His Highness the Crown Prince Nayef Bin Abdulaziz - may Allah protect him, for their generous allocation of SR (493.083.000) four hundred and ninety-three million and eighty-three thousand Saudi Riyals for Majmaah University in this year's budget by increase of 38% from last year.
The Deputy Rector also announced that this large increase in the University budget of the new year reflects the attention paid by the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the rising education march, the revolution in technology and scientific research, and seeking ever-reform and development, its continuous sought towards restoration & development and establishing projects that meet the home renaissance and citizen well-being & happiness.
No doubt that this financial support will allow our university to complete construction of its educational, research & service facilities. This support will also enable the university to cope with the expectations and ambitions through providing the university with the latest achievements of modern support of the educational process & research, ensure the quality of service provided to students, and increase the university contributions to promoting the local community environment and to actively participate with community organizations in the neighboring governorates.
There is no doubt that the University will invest the budget in developing of more scientific departments, new colleges, attracting national cadres and competencies that build the nation and foster its progress & prosperity, with benefiting of global talent and leading experiences worldwide to light our way to the prosperous future.
Dr. Al Hugail assured that, under the patronage of His Excellency Dr. Khalid Bin Mohammed Al Anqari, Minister of Higher Education, and his leading steps in drawing the higher education policy, the advancement in the Kingdom, these allocations will support the advancement of emerging universities and provide them with all needs to complete its facilities including university cities, university hospitals and teaching staff housing faculty, and other infrastructure. In addition to providing our University - led by its Rector, Dr. Khaled Bin Saad Al Muqren according to the future visions and clear strategies to enable them to start steadily and surely.
Dr. Al Hugail sent his greetings to all university affiliates, leaders, professors, administrators and students, assuring them of the capacity of the budget allocated for the university in supporting the developmental steps of the university, training of skilled manpower at all levels of the university in a way that gives us a learning outcomes distinct from students who are able to formulate the promising future of the nation.
We ask God to perpetuate the blessings of security and our homeland security, calling for Him to bless the the leadership of the people of the Kingdom, and to perpetuates the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and the Crown Prince with health and well-being. We also ask Almighty Lord to keep them asset to the kingdom and its great people.
