The Kingdom is commemorating the completion of two years of King Salman’s ascension to the throne and the oath of allegiance. On this event, MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Mugren extended his congratulations to King Salman for this precious occasion which was characterized by far-sighted vision and wise policies. MU Rector commended the role played by King Salman in fighting against terrorism and its perpetrators, blatant intervention in the affairs of other countries, security and development of all people. In attempt to develop the economy of the country, “Vision 2030” was adopted as a way for economic growth granting the country a leading position in all fields. For the “vision 2013” to be fulfilled, the National Transformation Program 2020 was launched across 24 government bodies operating in the economic and development sectors in its first year. With reference to the approved budget 2017, Dr. Al-Mugren stated that the new budget 2017- if implemented carefully- will generate a large-scale development and will improve the services extended to citizens. This budget, according to Dr. Al-Mugren, comes at a time when most countries are suffering from the slow pace of global economic growth and drop in oil prices. However, the kingdom’s economic is capable of coping with the current financial challenges, added Dr. Al-Mugren. The Rector never forgot to mention the general hospitality that he received from King Salman in his palace in Riyadh during his visit to extend his appreciations to the King for his contribution to the University. King Salman was one of the advocates to the idea of establishing the university, noted Al-Mugren. In his concluding statement, Dr. Al-Mugren wished Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz a prosperous future full of more flourishing development in ruling the country.
