DEANSHIP OF QUALITY AND SKILLS DEVELOPMENT DISCUSSES THE UNIVERSITY PLAN FOR INTERNATIOANL ACCREDITATION OF ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

Under the patronage of His Highness the Rector Dr. Khalid Al-Mogren and headed by His Excellency the vice-dean for academic affairs Prof. Mohammad Al-Rukban, the deanship of quality and skills development organized a meeting for discussing the university plan for international accreditation of academic programs in the presence of the university deans.

Dr. Khalid Al-Jarallah stated that the underlying purpose of this meeting is to review the university plan for international accreditation of academic programs in the upcoming years in accordance with the directives of His Highness the Rector.

The deanship consultant, Dr. Abdelhakeem Al-Babateen mentioned the university concern in achieving the academic accreditation. Then he made a reference to some of the important issues focused by the international institutions for academic accreditation. He added that most of these institutions focus mainly on the criterion of teaching, learning and academic affairs.

Prof. Al-Rukban stated that the requirement of academic accreditation international and domestically is of paramount significance and all colleges have an obligation to achieve that objective via the coordination with deanship of quality and skills development. He also added that the main responsibility lies on the colleges and the role of the deanship is to provide consultations and technical support.

Dr. Al-Jarallah presented a full account plan prepared by the deanship for international accreditation and the suggested phases as well as the role of the colleges in achieving this plan successfully.
