13th meeting held by Cifal Center on Humanitarian Work and Empowering Development

The Saudi Cifal Center organized the thirteenth meeting entitled: "Humanitarian Work and Empowering Development" on Wednesday via a video call.

The meeting was presented by Dr. Khadija Al-Ghamdi (Professor of Educational Systems Technologies), and was moderated by Dr. Nouf Al-Mutairi (Associate Professor of Education, Vice Dean of Development and Quality, MU).

The meeting highlighted the pioneering role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of humanitarian work worldwide, as it provides humanitarian and relief aid to many countries and peoples affected by natural disasters and conflicts through the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action.

The Center's principles rest on multiple aspects including extending a helping hand to those in need in the world and the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's note about the importance of humanitarian work as part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030.

Dr. Al-Ghamdi explained that humanitarian work is at the heard of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), by transforming challenges into opportunities that can contribute to accelerating the achievement of international goals. Humanitarian work, charitable work, and volunteer work all serve humanity, but they differ in terms of goals, scope, and methods, add Dr. Al-Ghamdi.

She said that everyone must have a positive role in the field of humanitarian work through volunteer work with official bodies and conducting training programs in cooperation with the concerned parties.
