On the 94th Saudi National Day and the International Day of Peace, the Saudi CIFAL Center organized the fourteenth session under the theme: "The Role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Enabling Peace" on Sunday via video call.
The session was held in the presence of a group of academics and advocates. The Ambassador Dr. Ziad bin Abdullah Al-Drees, "Former Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to UNESCO", was hosed and the meeting was moderated by Dr. Ahmed Al-Dajani, "Expert in Applications of Sustainable Development Goals 2030".
Dr. Al-Drees opened his speech by emphasizing that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia plays a pivotal role in promoting peace and stability at the regional and international levels through its diplomatic and humanitarian initiatives, as the Kingdom seeks to resolve conflicts and promote dialogue between conflicting parties. Al-Drees stressed that in recent years, the Kingdom has successfully mediated several regional conflicts, which contributed to achieving tangible progress towards peace.
He explained that the Kingdom hosts international conferences and forums aimed at enhancing understanding and cooperation between countries. He added that the Kingdom contributes significantly to humanitarian efforts by providing financial and logistical assistance to countries affected by conflicts and disasters. He explained that these efforts confirm the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's commitment to its role as a force supporting peace and stability in the world. Saudi CIFAL thanked the Ambassador Dr. Al-Drees, the meeting director Dr. Ahmed Al-Dajani, and all attendees.
