The Graduate Studies Deanship has issued a procedure to run MA thesis defense sessions online. This is in view of the current circumstances related to COVID19 disease, the decision of the Minister of Education to continue study online via distance learning systems, and per instructions from MU Rector to continue graduate studies via distance learning platforms.
Mechanism of MA thesis Defense Presentation online
1. MA thesis defense presentations are hold online via the Blackboard system or any videoconference service.
2. The thesis supervisor/committee chair sets the date and time of the presentation by filling out 11-15-DGS form.
3. The supervisor or committee chair determines the meeting and sends it to the Deanship for announcement.
4. The Vice-Dean of Graduate Studies books the virtual room in coordination with the e-learning deanship, and then the link is sent to the faculty and students.
5. Each faculty member in the defense panel team fills out a form 23-18 DGS after the defense presentation, then sends it to the committee chair.
6. The committee chair fills out a form 14-15 DGS and submits it to the department head with the faculty members’ forms 23-18 DGS.
7. The Vice-Dean of Graduate Studies supervises the online thesis defense presentation procedures and submits a report to the Graduate Studies Deanship including the online sessions held during the classes suspension period with the recommendations.
8. In case of any inquiries regarding the procedures of online thesis defense sessions, kindly contact Vice-Dean of Graduate Studies for Educational Affairs Dr. Bader Miteb Al-Salmi.
