The Center for Special Needs Services conducts a Workshop on Autism in Childhood

The Social Responsibility Observatory, represented by the Center for Special Needs Services, conducted a workshop titled “Autism in Childhood.” The workshop was delivered by Dr. Hajar Al-Mutlaq, Associate Professor in the Department of Special Education, in collaboration with students from the Early Childhood Education Department as part of the “Health Culture” course. The workshop aimed to enhance community awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The workshop sought to highlight Autism Spectrum Disorder in early childhood by providing scientific and practical content to help learners better understand its characteristics and effective approaches for dealing with it.

The session covered several key topics, including the concept of Autism Spectrum Disorder and its characteristics, diagnostic methods, as well as key educational and therapeutic interventions. It also addressed comprehensive support strategies and the importance of empowering individuals with autism through appropriate care and intervention.

A Q&A session allowed participants to discuss challenges related to supporting children with autism. The workshop concluded with handing awards to participating attendees.
