Vice-Rector's Office for Educational Affairs: Practical steps towards excellence

The Vice-Rector's Office for Educational Affairs has sought to have many educational and academic achievements by holding many activities and events to improve the quality of education. The Vice-Rector's Office also contributed to raising the level of employment rates for university graduates through partnerships with employers and the business sector, as well as focusing on aligning the outputs of the university with the needs of the labor market.

MU jumped in ranking from 749 from last year to 700 in the scimago. 

In the following report, we highlight the important activities:

Second forum of scientific departments

The second forum of scientific departments, organized by the Vice-Rector's Office for Educational Affairs, came to an end.

The forum was attended by the Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Prof. Muhammad Al-Aboudi, dean, vice-deans for educational affairs, and heads of academic departments. 

The forum began with a welcoming speech by the vice-rector, Prof. Al-Aboudi, who thanked the rector for patronizing the forum which aims to enrich the university's knowledge with the latest educational and academic developments and trends, as well as discuss the most prominent challenges and how to overcome them.

A FORUM ON DIPLOMA PROGRAMS AND THEIR ALIGNMENT WITH JOB MARKET

Under the patronage of MU rector, Prof. Al-Mizil and in the presence of vice-rectors and deans of colleges and deanships, the Vice-Rector’s Office for Educational Affairs held a forum on the diploma programs’ alignment with job market”. 17 speakers participated in the forum which featured 3 main themes and they are: suggestions of colleges for the diploma programs, designing the programs and professional certificates. The aim of the forum is to develop the university’s structure to align its outcomes with the demands of local and international market, to diversify its programs to meet the requirements of 21st century skills and fourth industrial revolution, to review and develop study plans, to set up new university majors required in the labor market, and to offer professional and administrative diplomas.

MU HOSTS 20TH MEETING OF STUDENT AFFAIRS DEANS COMMITTEE IN SAUDI ARABIA

The Deanship of Student Affairs at MU hosted the twentieth meeting of student affairs deans committee in Saudi Arabia. The meeting took place in the presence of student affairs' deans at universities and the general secretary of the committee, Dr. Othman Hakami. Last meeting's minutes were discussed along with the items listed on the agenda.

MU TO HOLD 4TH STUDENT FORUM

The Deanship of Student Affairs at MU will hold the fourth student forum which aims to discover and develop talents of students. The first version of the program was launched four years ago to support student activities and improve their quality.

MU SIGNS AGREEMENTS IN MULTIPLE BUSINESS SECTORS

The Employment and Alumni Affairs Center at MU signed agreements with several companies in the private sector to prepare graduates for the market. A ceremony was held for this occasion and was attended by the rector, Prof. Al-Mizil, the vice-rector for educational affairs, Dr. Al-Obudi, and representatives of the companies.

Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs launches the enrichment training program for faculty members

The Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Prof. Muhammad Al-Aboudi, launched on Wednesday the enrichment training program during the holy month of Ramadan, which comes under the patronage of MU rector, Prof. Saleh Al-Mizil, and organized by the Deanship of Quality and Skills Development.

The first enriching discussion session was entitled "Modern Trends in University Teaching".

The program includes 7 training courses and seminars targeting faculty members.

Deanship of Quality and Skills Development's enrichment training programs during Ramadan came to an end

Under the patronage of MU, rector Prof. Al-Mizil, The Deanship of Quality and Skills Development concluded its enrichment training programs offered during Ramadan, which targeted faculty members and staff in cooperation with the Deanship of Human Resources.

The number of attendees exceeded (2150) trainees from the university's employees.

AN ENRICHMENT PROGRAM LAUNCHED REMOTELY AT MU

 

At the request of MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqren, to serve the community and to provide self-development programs to students, the Deanship of Student Affairs launched an enrichment program remotely for the academic year 2020.

The program, supervised by the Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Al-Rumaih, comprises a wide-range of courses, cultural lectures and sports & scout programs.
