THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION HOLDS A TRAINING COURSE ENTITLED "THE USE OF D2L SYSTEM"

The Training Unit at the College of Business Administration held a specialized training course on the use of the e-learning system (Desire to Learn - D2L). This course came within the framework of the current plan of the Training Unit at the University for the academic year 1435/1436 AH. The course, which targeted the college faculty members, was delivered by Mr. Hamada Adel, the Supervisor of the Unit of Educational Technology at the College. There was a considerable trainee attendance and interaction in terms of practice and application of the system among the faculty members during the course. Moreover, a manual on the use of the e-learning system (D2L) was distributed among the trainees, which included a description of how to use the system as well as its applications, and a detailed explanation of all of its tools and how to use them in a practical manner. This manual is considered as a reference to the trainees for the application of the system. The course dealt with the following matters: - Dealing with the contents of the electronic versions of the curriculum. - Managing and receiving homework and assignments. - Preparing exams and managing grades. - Instant conversation and communication via e-mail. - Announcements. - Delivering lectures remotely (virtual classes). - Creating forums and polls (questionnaires). - Monitoring and following up students' attendance and their implementation of the system and its tools as well. Detailed explanations were also given concerning the tools and processes of the (D2L) system. In return, His Excellency the Dean of the College, Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Jibreen, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the College, Mr. Fares Bin Saleh Al Fares, and the Vice Dean for Development and Quality at the College, Mr. Bandar Bin Fahd Al Harbi praised the course on the considerable trainee attendance and interaction among the faculty members, which will have a tremendous impact in the development of their skills at the College, and in the College’s efforts towards advancement and the use of Educational Technology to achieve efficiency and effectiveness of the educational process. His Excellency Dr. Al Jibreen stressed the importance of activating these courses in order to enrich the e-learning culture among the College’s faculty members and students
