Problem-based teaching Strategy
Prepared by: Dr. Hajar Muhammad Al-Bashir Date: Thursday, 09/03/1438 Place: Classroom NO. 35 Target Group: Faculty Staff Course Goal: 1- Realizing the role of the faculty member as an instructor in a problem-based teaching program. Course Objectives: 1- Defining the problem and its selection criteria. 2- Realizing the importance of problem-based teaching in increasing student participation and cultivating a desire to learn. 3- Practicing assessment of problem-based teaching. 4- Defining the procedures of a problem-based lesson plan. 5- Planning and executing a problem-based lesson. 6- Being able to plan and present a problem-based lesson. The course included a number of things: identifying the problem, and that problem-based learning strategy helps students develop their knowledge and thinking skills. It has illustrated the approach and strategies of problem-based learning and teaching starting from the awareness of the problem, then offering a solution by making plans and collecting data related to it followed by forming hypotheses and discussions to figure out alternative solutions and closing the gap within the group in an attempt to reach a consensus.
