The Vice-Rector of Majmaah University, Dr. Musallam Mohammed Al-Dosari launched the “Awareness Training Program for Bus Drivers”, which aims to develop the awareness among bus drivers with the ethics of safe driving.
The program which was held by the Deanship of Community Services and Continuous Education in coordination with the General Department of Facilities and Services at the auditorium of main campus includes a number speeches and awareness lectures about issues related to traffic safety. The program was moderated by the dean of Deanship of Community Services and Continuous Education, Dr. Omar Musaed Al-Sharyofi and was attended by the vice-deans Dr. Adel Al-Magthoy, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sofyani, the general director of facility and services in Majmaah, Mr. Abdullah Al-Abdeljabbar, the director of service management, Mr. Moteib Al-Maymouni and the bus drivers. Lecturers were awarded with memorial shields.
Addressing the audience, the Vice-Rector of Majmaah University, Dr. Al-Dosari delivered a speech expressing his gratitude with this program which aims at improving the level of safety awareness. He also stressed the importance of taking into consideration the safety requirements and methods that should exist in all university buses. All the instructions related to emergency cases must be strictly followed.
Dr. Al-Dosari added that the university will not tolerate any delay for female students unless this delay was out of control. The university is also ready, Dr. Al-Dosari stated, to cooperate with all related departments to enhance the efficiency of transportation department.
Following the speech of Dr. Al-Dosari, the activities of the program were launched by a lecture delivered by the director of the University Environment & Occupational Safety, Mr. Abdelelah Abdullah Al-Mutairi who talked about the occupational safety requirements for bus drivers.
He also made a reference to wrong measures done by bus drivers and how to avoid them.
Sheikh Ahmed Mohammed Al-Mahmoud from the Commission of Promotion of Virtues and Prevention of Vice in Majmaah region gave a lecture about driving bus from an Islamic perspective. After that, the Major Hassan Shuqair Al-Rasheedi from the Traffic Department of Majmaah gave a talk about the causes of traffic accidents and how to avoid them. Al-Rasheedi also advised all drivers to abide by the traffic regulations and not to be distracted by anything that may cause accidents.
The event was concluded by responding to all inquiries and awarding all lecturers with a memorial shield
