The Deputyship of Quality and Academic Accreditation’s Departments and Tasks

 

Technical Support & Information Department

Overview:

The underlying function of this department is to provide support and consultation to all the quality units pertaining to fields of quality and academic accreditation. It also suggests required improvements based on the results of the evaluation as well as promoting the culture of quality in the university via various ways. 

 

The Department Tasks

The department of technical support and information has the following tasks:

1-      to provide support and consultations to quality units in the colleges in issues related to the execution of quality assurance and academic accreditation.

2-      To provide technical support to colleges, supported deanships and other administrations in the university in issues related to performance assessment and quality assurance.  

3-      To provide support to the university colleges via performance assessment to conduct self-assessment studies and to the preparation to apply for accreditation.

4-      Collecting and analyzing the positives and negatives results of self-assessment studies and provide suggestions for improvement.  

5-      To promote the culture of quality in the university among staff via various ways.

 

 

Academic Accreditation Department

Internal Academic Accreditation Unit

1.       To coordinate the communication with the National Commission for Assessment and Academic Accreditation.

2.       To follow up the annual reports of the institutional self-assessment and programming.

3.       To provide assistance to colleges to meet the requirements of the national academic accreditation.

4.       To review the colleges academic programs.

 

External Academic Accreditation Unit

1.       To provide assistance to colleges to communicate with international academic accreditation commissions.

2.       To provide the necessary support for colleges and academic programs which seek to obtain an accreditation from an international commission in a particular field.

 

Assessment and Measurement Department

Assessment and Performance Pointers Unit

1.       To design the criteria of performance assessment for academic and administrative activities.

2.       To provide support academic and administrative units in issues related to technical consultations of assessment and measurements.

3.       To design surveys and all the necessary data collection tools of assessment and measurements in fields related to performance quality for academic and administrative units.

4.       To provide periodical reports of performance assessment and measurements results for all jobs in all academic and administrative units for the purpose of constant improvement.

Preparing Reports and Studies Unit

1.       To set the policy and objectives of assessment and measurements related to performance quality at the university level.

2.       To promote the importance of assessment and measurements via publishing brochures and reports.

3.       To design surveys and all the necessary data collection tools of assessment and measurements in fields related to performance quality for academic and administrative units.

 

Quality Assurance Department

 

Culture Promotion Unit:

1.       To promote the culture of quality among the university staff via effective ways.

2.       To enhance the university staff with the importance of quality and the necessary strategies for achieving it.

Quality Management System Unit (ISO 9001:2008)

1.       To qualify the university units to meet the requirements of international standards of quality management system ISO 9001:2008

2.       To provide lectures, seminars and training courses build up the quality system

3.       To coordinate wit the competent authority to obtain the international standards certificate for quality management.
