Dr. Ahmad Al-Romaih- MU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs- patronized an initiative on the auditorium of main campus entitled “Follow Their Suit” on Sunday/ 09/06/1439. Several college deans, university staff and faculty members in addition to many students attended the event.
The ceremony began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Then, an introductory speech was given about the "Ambassadors of Moderate Islam" followed by a theater performance that gained the admiration of the audience. The play embodied Muslim figures whose efforts contributed to the advancement of science, medicine, chemistry and other disciplines.
The dialogue that took place on the stage between the actors impersonating the scientists of old era with those of the current generation has demonstrated the contributions of Muslim scientists in the field of science and knowledge and how students should follow suit.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Khalid Al-Ofaisan, delivered a speech in which he stressed the importance of the role of the University in guiding students of all academic levels to excel in their academic studies as well as to be protected from all extreme ideas. He also made a reference to the ongoing and unexceptional support of the University Rector to serve students.
“The success of the event, including this purposeful and excellent drama, are the result of the students' efforts with some assistance from the Student Affairs,” Dr. Al-Ofaisan said. He then thanked those who had contributed to the success of the event.
Dr. Al-Romaih then awarded the participants and photos were taken.
The Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Al-Rumaih concluded the event by appreciating the efforts of the Student Affairs in this initiative to educate students about the invaluable contributions of our ancient scholars to science.
