The Deanship of Development and Quality welcomed a member of the final mock visit team to renew institutional accreditation.
The Dean of Development and Quality, Dr. Fares Al-Fares, and the vice-deans received the advisory team and escorted them in field tours of the various departments, deanships, colleges, and research centers at the university. In a visit to the General Administration of Libraries and Knowledge Resources, the operational plan was reviewed and its performance indicators report, and a meeting was held with the Director of Libraries and Knowledge Resources.
The team also visited the central research laboratories and met with the director of the Engineering and Applied Sciences Research Center, the director of the Health and Basic Colleges Research Center, and the director of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center to discuss the center’s achievements and its role in promoting scientific research.
The team also held a meeting with the Dean of Student Affairs and the director of Facilities to discuss student services and their effectiveness in meeting students’ needs. The team then completed its tours by visiting the College of Engineering and the College of Applied Medical Sciences, where they met with the deans of the colleges and reviewed the operational plans. The two colleges’ laboratories were also visited. The team concluded its tour by visiting the University Medical Center and met with the center’s director to review the operational aspects.
The team presented a set of final recommendations to optimally prepare the university for the official visit, and to ensure that all academic and administrative operations comply with the standards required to obtain institutional accreditation.
Dr. Fares Al-Fares highlighted the importance of this visit in identifying shortcomings and enhancing strengths, as well as addressing any challenges that the university may face in its pursuit of accreditation.
