MU CELEBRATES NATIONAL DAY 90TH

Patronized by MU rector, Dr. Khalid al-Muqren, MU held a ceremony to celebrate the national day 90th in the presence of vice-rectors, deans of colleges and deanships and directors of administration. The ceremony, which was organized by the General Administration of PR, took place in the auditorium of main campus amid precautionary measures to fight against Covid-19.

The ceremony began by listening to the national anthem followed by a beautiful recitation of the Holy Quran. A promo was then played narrating the history of celebrating the national day at the university including all media and film production of previous years.

The audience listened to a recorded speech by Majmaah Governor Prince Abdelrahman al-Saud in his office in which he congratulated on behalf of himself and all people in Majmaah the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince this glorious day. Remembering the sacrifice made by the founder of this land the late King Abdul Aziz and his men to unify this country, Prince Abdelrahman hailed the development, unity and prosperity the Kingdom is experiencing which are all ascribed to the efforts exerted by the current government.

A speech was also delivered on this occasion by Abdullah al-Obaid on behalf of all students who said that this event should encourage each and everyone one of us to obey the leaders of this country; expel any devious or extreme thought; and devote our passion for this land.

A special film entitled “Each thing changed but not patriotism” was displayed which features what this nation has gone through during the pandemic.

Addressing the audience on this occasion, MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqren delivered a speech which began by extending his sincere congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud and the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdul Aziz on the national day. “The government has demonstrated compelling efforts in dealing with Covid-10 pandemic in a manner which received the commending of the World Health Organization” said Dr. al-Muqren.

The rector also thanked the government’s considerable concern with education in general, and MU in particular, which have had a substantial impact in supporting the process of learning in this country.

Dr. al-Muqren concluded his remark by highlighting that success is collective and not an individual’s efforts, emphasizing the vital role of team work spirit, an approach that has been adopted by the university since its establishment and resulted in several achievements.

The celebration was concluded by an operetta entitled “ 90 Years” which was performed by a group of students, and which narrates the history of unifying the country by the late King Abdul Aziz – May God rest his soul in peace-
