THE UNIVERSITY RECTOR MOURNS KING ABDULLAH’S DEATH AND DESCRIBES HIM AS A UNIQUE LEADER

His Excellency the University Rector, Dr. Khalid S. Al-Mugren expressed his deep sorrow for the death of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz and described it as a great lost for the entire nation. The University Rector expressed condolence on behalf of him and all the university members to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, His Crown Prince Muqren Bin Abdul Aziz and to the whole royal family as well as the entire Arab and Islamic world. Prayers were also made by the University Rector to rest King Abdullah’s soul in peace.

King Abdullah put the country on the road of total modernization, without compromising on Islamic values and traditions. He brought drastic social changes, empowered our women and encouraged youth for higher education.

Under King Abdullah, Saudi Arabia witnessed unprecedented development in the education sector. The King gave top priority to the Kingdom’s educational and technological advancement. He issued directives and took landmark decisions to concentrate on developing people of the country and creating a promising generation who possess skills and capabilities to lead the country to a bright future. These decisions included expansion of educational projects and setting up of universities in almost all major cities. In 2005, the King launched the foreign scholarship program to send Saudi students to reputable universities around the world. More than 200,000 Saudis have so far benefited from the program.

King Abdullah shouldered a big task of making the Kingdom’s health sector one of the premier sectors providing top quality services and facilities to ensure healthy living of citizens. 

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah was also ranked at Forbes magazine as the most powerful person in the region, and 11th on its world list.  King Abdullah has been responsible for significant social, economic, cultural and political reforms.
