Under the sponsorship of Vice Dean for Academic Affairs Mr. Fares bin Saleh Al-fares, and Vice Dean for Development and Quality Mr. Bandar bin Fahad Al-Harbi, the college has conducted on Wednesday, 03/02/1436 H a workshop on Final Exams. The workshop comes in the light of the final exams preparations, depending on the content of Exams Manual approved by the Office of vice Dean for Academic Affairs and following the guidance of Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jibreen dean of the college. Attended by all the faculty members, the workshop was presented by Mr. Fawzi Hamdi the Coordinator of the Assessment and Evaluation Unit which was commenced with an introduction to the importance of preparing achievement tests and the concept of achievement test. Also, a clarification to the difference between assessment, evaluation and testing, as well as test classification on the basis of: (classification on the basis of what the test measures - classification based on the response to the test method - classification on the basis of the application method - classification based on chronology - classification on the basis of the test reference and on the basis of the test time). After that, the workshop addressed the objectives of the tests, tests building steps and characteristics of an effective achievement test then an illustration of the test types and their advantages and disadvantages. In addition to, presenting some guidelines to develop a good achievement test. Finally, a presentation was delivered to the heads of the executive committees of the Assessment and Evaluation Unit about the tests observation as well as the distribution and collection of answers booklets. From his side, the dean expressed his gratitude and contentment with the workshop which aimed to: come up with a unified framework to be implemented across all departments of the college, establishing some achievement tests building skills, applying feedback gathered from the analysis of the questions and the results to take actions and build plans that will lead to: - improve the quality of education – providing the student with a great confidence in the fairness of the test, which helps him to organize his time during studying and distribute it equally on the topics - clarify the strengths and weaknesses, which helps in the development of academic performance - raise the level of achievement which will clearly reflects the extent of the scientific benefit for the students results in improving the educational process
