Healthy Habits

The Home Economics Department at the Faculty held a presentation about the daily healthy habits and their significance. The presenter maintained, “Healthy habits represent an important facet in our lives regarding their effect on the physical and mental acuity.” Several healthy habits such as drinking water, exercising and eating properly were discussed. “Drinking enough water before bed and early in the morning improves the Digestive System and cleans the liver so that it can do its functions properly, which in turn helps prevent diseases in the future,” Dr. Manal said. The presenter also focused on exercise, which maintains good fitness, helping the body to work well. “Little exercise every day preserves good natural fitness necessary for the body to perform its functions well,” Dr. Manal advised. Various ways of sitting, standing, carrying the baby and using smartphones were also illustrated. “Drinking very hot or cold water has a bad effect on the stomach, so we should take care of the temperature of our drinks if we want to protect our digestive system, Dr. Manal added. The session ended with recommendations of following healthy habits and avoiding bad ones after answering queries from the audience.
