COLLEGE OF NURSING CELEBRATES THE INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY

The College of Nursing celebrated the International Nurses Day by holding activities under the patronage and presence of the vice-rector for postgraduate studies and scientific research, Prof. Muhammad Al-Shehri, the head of Hawtat Sudair Centre, Mr. Fahd Al-Zakri, heads of government sectors and students. 

A ceremony was held which began with a welcoming speech delivered by the Dean of the College, Dr. Ashwaq Asiri, who pointed out the important role of nursing in improving health care, developing the profession, and cooperate with participating sectors.

In a welcoming speech to the audience, the vice-rector highlighted the Kingdom’s role in supporting nursing as a pivotal profession in the health care system, promoting education and research in the field of nursing, and encouraging social and economic interaction to enhance the role of nurses in our communities.

The event featured an exhibition which included several booths, including the Primary Health Care Center booth where different services were provided such as cumulative glucose screening and Hajj and seasonal influenza vaccines. The Saudi Red Crescent Center in Hawtat Sudair also had an awareness booth on first aid along with other programs.

The nursing students participated in the exhibition with nine booths and addressed different aspects of nursing in Saudi Arabia such as the nursing profession and its role in community development, the government's support to nursing and being of the goals of the Vision 2030. The Hawtat Sudair Hospital also received blood donors.

The dean of the College, Dr. Asiri honored the students who participated in the events, appreciating their efforts and excellence in serving nursing.
