Consistency Samples and their Role in Measuring Learning Outcomes
The Quality Unit at the Department of Arabic Language held a workshop entitled “Consistency samples and their role in measuring learning outcomes” on 08/03/1438 in the Annexed Building, room NO. 18. Presented by Dr. Nawal Al-Desouki, the workshop targeted the faculty members and purported the following: 1- Defining the learning outcomes of an academic program or a course. 2- Drawing up learning outcomes reports and course test banks. 3- Creating a grade sheet matrix throughout the course learning outcomes. 4- Creating a grade sheet matrix of a specific unit of study. 5- Setting up a metric for defining detailed learning outcomes of a unit. 6- Making a test bank matrix linked to the learning outcomes of a unit. 7- Coding questions. 8- Formulating recommendations based on the analysis of the learning outcomes results. Trainees were educated how to make reports measuring the learning outcomes of an academic program in addition to linking them to the syllabus outcomes and drawing up grade sheet matrix distributing marks among the learning outcomes of the course. Detailed explanation of defining the learning outcomes of a sample unit was attempted. Then I followed with detailed information on how to create test bank questions linked to the learning outcomes of each unit. A code system of the questions was illustrated graphically, then suitable recommendations were offered.
