Head of English Department Meets New Students
In order to enhance the significance of the support of the university student's progress, the Head of the English Language Department met on Tuesday, 1/6/1438, in the Ceremony Hall new students of the department in the presence of a number of faculty members and academic instructors. The meeting was held to educate the freshmen about the department's plan and the academic system in the university, the rights and duties of the university students and the importance of academic advising. The head of the department of students explained the lectures and the method of electronic registration along with the optimal way of selecting courses that matches with the study plan and the significance of following the academic advising plans to achieve a high CGPA. He pointed to the opportunities available to students in the department and the college in general such as the listening labs, which are given great importance because of their role in providing students with listening and speaking. The new students were also introduced to the importance of the English language club which takes place in a corner of the college, and which was developed by the efforts of a few faculty members and students to a large extent until it became the destination of every student who wants to practice the language freely. The coordinator of the academic Advising Unit and Student Support, Dr. Tahir Albioli spoke about the opportunities for academic Counseling and its importance that no student can ignore due to the academic adviser's knowledge of the student's interest at the time of registration as well as any problem that may arise during his study. Lastly, students’ questions were answered, and several recommendations were given to them.
