Viva of the First Master Thesis in Majma'ah University at a Zulfi College of Education
The first master thesis in Majma'ah University was discussed in a viva on Monday 20/01/1437 AD, in Zulfi College of Education. The student Sumaiah Bint Abdullah Bin Obaid Al-Moosa submitted the thesis, which was titled "The words of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Humaid in the Interpretation and Study of the Glorious Quran" to the Quran and its Sciences Program in the Department of Islamic Studies. The viva committee consisted of: Prof. Saud Bin Abdulaziz Al-Hamad, a professor of Quran interpretation in the Islamic Studies Department at the College, as the supervisor and rapporteur, Sheikh Dr. Saleh Bin Abdullah Bin Humaid, an adviser at the Royal Court and the imam and preacher of grand mosque, as an external examiner, Prof. Suleiman Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Sulaiman, a professor of Quran interpretation in the Islamic Studies Department at the College, as an internal examiner. The discussion lasted nearly three hours, followed by the Committee's deliberation, which resulted in the recommendation to grant the student a master's degree in the Glorious Quran and its Sciences with honors. This thesis is the first Master thesis discussed in a viva at Majma'ah University, which was honored by the presence of the Rector, Dr. Khaled Bin Saad Al-Muqrin, the Vice-Rector, Dr. Musalam Al-Dosari, and a number of the University colleges and deanships deans, as well as several faculty members and students.
