College of Engineering Holds Workshop Regarding Computer-based Quality Assurance Program

The College of Engineering held a workshop entitled “Computer-based Quality Assurance; Advantages and Applications” on Wednesday 22/12/1438 at the Engineering Club Hall in the College. The Workshop, attended by several faculty members, was held under the support of the College Dean, Dr. Abdul-Muhsen Al-Abdul-Kareem, who welcomed the faculty members and urged them for more progress in the fulfillment of academic quality requirements, stressing, meanwhile, that the efforts towards academic accreditation would certainly pay off in the near future. Dr. Abdurrahman Al-Qawasmi- Supervisor of Academic Programs and Development at the Vice-Rector’s Office for Academic Affairs- talked about the new computer-based Quality Assurance Program, which has been recently updated at the College. He first introduced the advantages of the program in performing efficient and faster quality assurance procedures. He also explained the contents of the Computer-based program as well as its icons from the data entry phase to the quality report writing stage. Dr. Al-Qawasmi pointed out that the most important aspect of the program is its large database that can contain all quality related data, which saves the time and effort spent in entering data during the evaluation process of academic various outcomes. “Assistant icons in the program provide the faculty members with the possibility of asking questions about any procedures in the system,” he stated. “Also, another distinct feature in the program is that it provides the faculty member with a detailed report about the problems or faults in any educational outcomes during the evaluation stage along with offering optimal solutions that can save both time and effort,” Dr. Al-Qawasmi emphasized. At the end of the workshop, several queries by the faculty members about the program and its features were fully answered.
