Alumni Affairs Unit

About the Unit: 

This unit is responsible of augmenting the relationship between the College of Engineering and its graduates by engaging them in activities that attach them to the community. It also develops in them a sense of belonging and belief that they are committed to play a vital role in developing the college's educational programs and help graduates to land their jobs. The Unit updates the alumni database on regular basis and seeks their opinions about the curricula and skills required in the labor market, taking into account the difficulties facing them after graduation.

Mission:

Strengthening the relationship between the College of Engineering and its graduates by engaging them in activities that attach them to the community. It also develops in them a sense of belonging and belief that they are committed to play a vital role in developing the college's educational programs and help graduates to land their jobs.

Goals:

1. Collaborating with the Admission and Registration Unit to create a comprehensive database for graduates and those expected to graduate.

2. Communicating with alumni through various means of communication, which enhances the graduate's relationship with the college.

3. Identifying the obstacles facing students after graduating and joining the labor market.

4. Coordination with the relevant civil society institutions to assist graduates getting job.

5. Conducting courses and workshops for graduates to help them in searching for jobs.

6. Updating the statistics of graduates.

7. Collecting graduates' feedback about their state.

8. Preparing and coordinating with civil society organizations to hold an annual employment forum.

Tasks:

1. Creating a comprehensive database of graduates with their contact details.

2. Creating an e-mail for the Unit.

3. Training college graduates on how to write a CV, prepare prepare for interview, and acquire the skills of searching for job.

4. Seeking graduates' opinions on how to improve the Unit's activities to meet their needs.

5. Seeking employers and civil society institutions' opinion about the college graduates.

6. Inviting institutions and companies to the annual employment forum to help in creating more job opportunities for graduates.

7. Cooperating with institutions and companies to train graduates to acquire the skills required for the labor market.
