Under the patronage of the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Khalid Al-Ofaysan, the College of Engineering participated I the Volunteering Works Exhibition for Local Community Service and Community Awareness which was held for two days by the Dean’s Office for Student Affairs at Majmaah Mall.
The Student Activity Committee and the Community Service Committee at the College of Engineering participated in the exhibition in the presence of the Vice-Dean for Educational Affairs, Dr. Saleh Al-Dahsh, the Director of Student Activity, Dr. Tariq Nabil and the Director of Human Resources, Mr. Moayed Al-Jaser.
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, under the supervision of the Head of the Department, Dr. Abdullah Al-Shehri and Dr. Ahmed Al-Naja’awi, presented a project entitled “ How to select the suitable floor for your house”. A scientific poster was explained which includes the best natural and artificial rocks for building floors of houses such as marble, granite, ceramics, porcelain, stone, parquet and vinyl with the most efficient and beautiful views and the best prices.
The contribution of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, under Dr. Tariq Al-Bajouri, was entitled “The most common problems of cars and how to solve them”. A scientific poster was explained containing the most important problems of cars and ways to solve them without the need for a mechanic, an act that saves time, effort and money.
The Department of Electrical Engineering, under the supervision of Dr. Waleed Al-Harbi, entitled “Smart and sustainable solar home”. A scientific poster was explained including a detailed and simplified explanation of the system of solar home works, designed and installed. The economic benefit to the owner of the house was also highlighted in addition to its unique advantages in providing clean energy at the cheapest prices and the best performance.
Over 200 visitors commended the vital role played the College of Engineering through this exhibition in serving the local community in Majmaah.
