The Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education – at the Female Section- organized an event on the theme “a Book and a Cup” which aimed to inculcate the reading habit in female students.
The 3-days activities were coordinated by Mafaz Voluntary team at Soadaa Center in Majmaah and Rafd team at the Deanship . A program titled “T 3” was launched, including workshops on making coffee, wrapping gifts, drawing, cosmetics, calligraphy, artifacts made by female students, contests and a T tour.
There were 3 corners in the event, a corner for reading books and a variety of stories that was mainly concerned with promoting the culture of reading among students; a corner for coffee which celebrated the first book; and a third one that introduced Fatima Al-Fahria, Founder of the First University, showed a video about the Korean culture and another video about the Tunisian culture.
A seminar about the importance of reading was held, and bags of gifts including brochures about the Community Service Deanship were distributed.
“This event supports Voluntary work, which is an important aspect at Majmaah University encouraged by the 2030 vision of the Kingdom,” Dr. Omar said.
The Chairperson of the Mafaz Volunteer Team, Ms. Noura Al-Saleh, thanked Majmaah University Rector, Dean of the Community Service and Vice-Dean for their collaborations in supporting and holding such useful events.
A few schools, including Manarat Al-Majmaa Secondary Schools, Aisha House for memorizing the Holy Quran, and the Middle and First Secondary Schools for Quran memorization visited the event. The visitors during the 3 days of the event reached 686 students.
