On the International Volunteer Day 2019, the Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Dr. Ahmed Al-Rumaih welcomed in his office the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Khalid Al-Ofaisan, the Vice-Dean, Dr. Faris Al-Faris, the Head of Cultural and Social Activities Department, Mr. Awad Al-Mutairi and the Head of Student Clubs Department, Mr. Majed Al-Shunaify along with some students who were actively participated in volunteer programs for the academic year 1440/1441.
The Dean, Dr. Al-Ofaisan extended his thanks to the Vice-Rector for meeting the students who were very active in volunteer programs which would encourage them to work harder to serve their country.
The Vice-Rector gave a motivational speech to students and expressed his gratitude with the participation of the university students in volunteer programs.
Elaborating on the concept of volunteer, Dr. Al-Rumaih said that volunteer works is rooted in the society’s values and costumes which are based on Islamic sharia. The university, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, plays a significant role in encouraging students to engage in volunteer works which invest their potential in the cost effective manner.
In line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 of having one million volunteers in Saudi Arabia, the Vice-Rector encouraged students to motivate their peers to engage in volunteer works.
Dr. Al-Rumaih concluded his remarks by emphasizing that we are not only celebrating the international volunteer day, but we are motivating ourselves and raising our expectations to work harder.
Dr. Al-Ofaisan extended his thanks to MU Rector, Dr. Khalid Al-Muqren and the Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, Dr. Al-Rumaih for their support and follow-up of the deanship’s programs and activities.
