Student Guidance, Counseling, and Rights Unit

  • Responsibilities 

  • Monitoring students academically, guiding them, observing their progress, and submitting reports and recommendations to the department head.

  • Providing students with suggestions and advice to improve their academic performance and helping them overcome academic and administrative problems.

  • Addressing cases of academic underperformance, studying the causes, offering support, and proposing appropriate solutions.

  • Helping students discover their abilities and interests, set their goals, and develop their potential in a way that benefits society.

  • Preparing new students to understand university life and its academic system through orientation and guidance programs.

  • Raising awareness among students about the college and university regulations.

  • Removing obstacles that hinder students' academic achievement.

  • Studying negative behavioral patterns in some students and working on suitable solutions.

  • Guiding and supporting struggling students, following up with them to improve their academic performance and overcome challenges.

  • Supporting outstanding students, guiding them, and helping them maintain their excellence.

  • Supporting gifted students and supporting their creativity.

  • Assisting students with special needs in achieving academic success and social and psychological integration, studying their problems, and working on solutions.

  • Preparing students for professional life, enabling them to succeed in various careers and contribute to society.

  • Investigating and resolving complaints and grievances submitted by students.

  • Providing necessary consultations to students regarding academic and non-academic issues related to the university.

  • Educating students about their university rights and how to claim them through proper legal and official university channels.

  • Establishing justice and fairness as a core principle for building an ideal university community.

  • Supporting students' rights in accordance with university regulations, ensuring alignment with applicable policies.

  • Helping potential graduation to register for their remaining courses and forwarding requests beyond the unit’s authority to the Deanship of Admission and Registration, and following up on them.

  • Receiving student cases (withdrawals, academic dismissal, absences from exams), sorting and completing the required data, reviewing and verifying them, and forwarding to the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Development.
