Educational Affairs and Examinations Unit

This unit is responsible for developing and improving academic curricula to enhance educational outcomes and ensure alignment with academic accreditation standards. It is also assigned to design course schedules based on faculty specializations, managing the registration, withdrawal, and add/drop processes for the college’s various courses, and setting and developing student assessment and evaluation standards. The unit also oversees evaluation processes across the college’s academic programs. It manages examination committees, assigns proctors, receives exam papers from other colleges, and manages midterm and make-up exams. The appointment of the head of this unit is issued by the Dean of the College.

Unit Responsibilities:

1. Conducting, publishing, and developing scientific research in the field of measurement and evaluation.

2. Implementing rules and regulations related to undergraduate examination policies.

3. Forming final exam committees in coordination with academic departments.

4. Enhancing the evaluation of the educational process by ensuring the quality of examinations.

5. Preparing lists of students subject to academic denial and graduating students.

6. Providing support and assistance to students, addressing their concerns and suggestions regarding class schedules and examinations, and proposing suitable solutions.

7. Coordinating with faculty members to collect backup copies of exam questions for each section to be used in emergency situations.

8. Preparing and publishing the list of exam proctors.

9. Daily monitoring of final examination proceedings during the exam period and submitting daily reports.

10. Preparing a report on final exam results and submitting it to the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Development.

11. Developing specifications and standards for curriculum planning and academic programs in alignment with the National Commission for Academic Accreditation & Assessment (NCAAA) standards.

12. Reviewing and evaluating academic plans based on defined standards, policies, and mechanisms, and recommending their approval.

13. Enhancing academic programs and curricula, and supporting academic departments in achieving high-quality study plans.

14. Improving the competencies of staff working in curriculum and academic program planning.

15. Continuously monitoring the activities of curriculum committees across departments and colleges for evaluation and improvement purposes, and ensuring they have the necessary resources and support.

16. Preparing and distributing course schedules fairly among faculty members according to their areas of specialization.

17. Implementing the regulatory framework and policies for undergraduate studies and exams.

18. Setting student schedules in academic departments and coordinating with other colleges in collaboration with the Deanship of Admissions and Registration.

19. Developing and announcing the registration plan at the beginning of each semester.

20. Addressing registration issues encountered by students at the start of each semester.

21. Receiving and reviewing students' requests for course equivalency to ensure they meet all regulatory requirements. Internal course equivalency is handled within the college by the designated staff member, while external equivalency requests are sent to the relevant colleges. Once approval is obtained, the requests are submitted to the Deanship of Admissions and Registration for final processing.
