Message from the Head of Department

Welcome to the website of the Department of Chemistry. The department was established with the first semester of the academic year 1447/1448 AH to play a vital role in meeting the evolving needs of the labor market.

This year, the department continues strives to keep the pace of development through a contemporary study plan in line with the latest advances in the fields of chemistry and its applications. This enables graduates to contribute effectively to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and enhances their competitiveness in the labor market at the local, regional, and international levels.

Stemming from the department’s commitment to a culture of quality and academic excellence, comprehensive reviews of the study plan have been conducted in collaboration with counterpart departments at benchmark universities, in accordance with international best practices and the standards of the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA). The department is also proud this year to have applied for international academic accreditation (ASIIN), a step that reflects its determination to attain global recognition and to enhance the quality of the educational process as well as its outcomes in line with international standards.

The department is keen to keep pace with the rapid developments in the research environment and the chemical industry by qualifying students, scientifically and practically, in innovation and competition, and to contribute effectively to community service and the development of research and applied projects in the field of chemistry, in support of sustainable development.
