Library Documentation, Information Technology, and Support Services

The Department of Biology includes 12 classrooms equipped with smart boards. Faculty members’ offices are spacious, well-equipped, and comfortable, meeting their professional needs and responsibilities. These offices are conveniently located and easily accessible to students.

Several restaurants and cafés are available for students and staff, along with a dedicated hall for student activities. The College of Science also provides medical services and consultations delivered by qualified physicians and nurses.

Computer Facilities (Information Technology)

MU provides laptop computers, printers and scanners for all staff. The computers are equipped with specialized software for research and teaching purposes, as well as dedicated software for interactive smart boards.

Students can access public-use computers in the library or in computer laboratories. The Deanship of Information Technology and E-Learning provides e-learning systems and establishes educational laboratories to engage students in the learning process and support the development of their skills.

Responsibilities of the Deanship of Information Technology and E-Learning

The Deanship undertakes the following tasks and responsibilities:

• Providing internet services to all university units

• Developing and updating digital systems across the university

• Leading digital transformation in alignment with the university’s strategic goals

• Delivering electronic services to students, faculty members, and staff

• Equipping colleges with modern laboratories and teaching tools

• Developing and managing online courses and e-learning systems

• Providing educational software and platforms

Students register for courses and see their grades through the electronic portal. They can also access course information, learning materials, and assignments through the Blackboard platform. In addition, a computer laboratory is available, offering high-quality services, training, and support in e-learning, and is accessible during training sessions and workshops.

Library Services

The library is a primary source of knowledge for all stakeholders in the academic process. Majmaah University provides a central library at the main campus in Majmaah City, a library at the College of Science, and access to the Saudi Digital Library (SDL).

1. Central Library

The Central Library is located in the Central Library Building in Majmaah City, with an area of 400 square meters. It serves all university students, faculty members, administrative staff, researchers, and scholars from outside the university.

The library provides an electronic catalog and currently houses 35,005 books.

2. College of Science Library

The library is located on the second floor of the College of Science in both the male and female campuses. It provides the same services as the Central Library.

3. Saudi Digital Library (SDL)

The Saudi Digital Library (SDL) is the largest collection of academic information resources in the Arab world. SDL resources include:

• More than 450,000 books

• More than 50,000 journals

• More than 5,000,000 theses and dissertations

• 169 databases

SDL content is continuously updated, providing an extensive and growing body of knowledge over time. SDL serves as a unified organization for all universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, negotiating with publishers on legal and financial matters. This saves significant time and effort and unifies all Saudi universities under SDL.
