Responsibilities Data Center Unit (DCU)

The Deanship of IT has a data center which comprises components that include servers, power and back power, UPS and fire extinguishing appliances. The data center also features a high level of security to maintain the operation of the servers in cooperation with other units. The DCU undertakes the following tasks: - Maintain the components of the data center in cooperation with concerned companies - Document all servers in the data center - Provide a description of the servers’ features - Set plans to monitor the data center 24 hours - Set emergency plans in case of power off, air condition broken or fire. - Set future developmental plans for the center in line with international standards - Supervise the works done by companies in the data center in cooperation with the other units - Provide software to all administrations, colleges and deanships
