Third Seminar of Computer Science and Information Department for Academic Year 1440-1441 held

In line with the series of seminars held during the academic year 1440/1441, the third seminar was conducted in the presence of the Head of the Department, Dr. Fayez Al-Fayez and faculty members. The seminar which was presented by Dr. Mohammed Al-Attoum is titled “Automated Detection of Breast Cancer Using Artificial Neural Networks and Fuzzy Logic”.
Dr. Al-Attoum talked about a a research project aimed at developing several expert systems that diagnose breast tumors and classify them as either malignant or benign.
The way how these systems are developed, some of which rely on artificial neural networks and others rely on the logic of ambiguity.
A comparison was also offered between these systems to determine which gives the most accurate results and which has the highest performance during execution.

The seminar was wrapped up by a Q&A session which was both enriching and informative.
