The Alumni Affairs Unit organizes a a Workshop on Creative Thinking Skills - مهارات التفكير الإبداعي

The Vice-Dean's Office for Educational Affairs and Development, represented by the Alumni Affairs Unit, organized a workshop titled “Creative Thinking Skills,” presented by Dr. Jawaher Al-Uhaidab.

The workshop targeted graduating students and explored how creative thinking can be applied as a modern learning strategy to help them generate innovative ideas within their fields of study. Participants were introduced to the concept of thinking including its importance, types, and challenges with a focus on distinguishing between critical, creative, and conventional thinking.

Dr. Al-Uhaidab explained the key components of creative thinking, its value in academic and personal life, and how students can develop critical thinking skills by practicing objectivity and open-mindedness when analyzing problems, sharing ideas, and expressing opinions.

The workshop also covered essential logical reasoning skills such as maintaining logical sequence, evaluating evidence strength, identifying misleading arguments, and drawing valid conclusions. Students learned techniques for accurate documentation, source evaluation, and clarity of thought, including recognizing biases, analogies, and logical relationships.

Furthermore, the workshop introduced participants to advanced thinking models, including brainstorming techniques, Taylor’s Creativity Model, compound thinking, and the Six Thinking Hats approach, as well as how to use mind mapping to organize and visualize ideas effectively.
