20250804812The Vice-Dean's Office of the College of Science, represented by the Volunteering and Community Service Unit and in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry, organized a scientific workshop titled “Green Chemistry and Sustainability.”
The session was presented by Dr. Amani Ibrahim Sharoudah from the Department of Chemistry and aimed to raise public awareness about the importance of environmentally friendly chemistry and its vital role in achieving sustainable development in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
The workshop explored key concepts such as safe chemical design, waste and emission reduction, and the use of green solvents, along with practical applications of green chemistry in water treatment, energy, and industry.
It concluded with an overview of green hydrogen production technologies as a promising source of clean and sustainable energy.
The participants’ active engagement and thoughtful discussions greatly enriched the session, fostering a spirit of collaboration, learning, and knowledge exchange.
