The workshop was delivered by Dr. Jawaher Al-Zahrani, who presented an overview of the standards and performance indicators established by the Education and Training Evaluation Commission. She explained the purpose of the Professional Licensing Examination, which is designed to measure whether applicants meet the minimum professional standards required for entry into the teaching profession.
The examination is considered a key tool in enhancing the quality of teaching performance and strengthening teachers’ skills and competencies. It ensures that educators possess the professional qualifications necessary to effectively carry out their roles.
During the session, Dr. Al-Zahrani highlighted the core skills targeted by the exam, including comprehension, speed, mental agility, the ability to reach accurate solutions efficiently, intellectual endurance, and sustained concentration. She emphasized that these skills can be developed through intensive practice using sample licensing exam questions.
The workshop also addressed the broader objectives of the Commission in implementing the Professional Licensing Examination. These include ensuring that teachers can apply professional standards in practical classroom settings, raising the overall quality of teaching, and encouraging continuous professional development.
The session also explored the structure and components of the professional standards and provided practical guidance on successfully passing the exam. Participants were advised to prepare both academically and psychologically, identify reliable study resources, organize their study plans effectively, and practice answering techniques. Dr. Al-Zahrani recommended revising as many compiled question banks as possible and becoming familiar with common answer patterns.
A detailed explanation of the Mathematics specialization standards and indicators was presented, along with step-by-step problem-solving strategies. Attendees were guided on how to approach exam questions by reading them quickly, identifying key terms, understanding the question’s objective, reviewing answer choices efficiently, eliminating illogical options, selecting the correct answer, and finally rechecking it against the question to ensure accuracy.
