The College of Science organizes an Event to mark World Mathematics Day

In celebration of World Mathematics Day, the Volunteering and Community Service Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Mathematics, organized an event for gifted students in Zulfi. The event aimed to highlight the importance of mathematics and its pivotal role in shaping civilizations and advancing nations.

The program featured a scientific presentation on the origins and historical development of mathematics, showcasing the contributions of various civilizations in establishing and advancing mathematical concepts. It also highlighted the contemporary role of mathematics in supporting science, technology, economics, and other modern applications. The session emphasized mathematics as the language of science and a fundamental tool for systematic thinking and precise analysis.

As part of fostering students’ critical thinking skills, an interactive competition was held, featuring diverse questions and challenges designed to enhance analytical abilities, reasoning, and teamwork. The competition witnessed strong engagement from participating students.

The event concluded with student's thoughts on the importance of mathematics and its impact on their academic journey.
