A Workshop entitled “Academic Advising between Students’ Rights and Advisor’s Duties”

The Vice-Dean’s Office for Educational Affairs, represented by the Student Support Unit, at the College of Science and Humanities in Remah conducted a workshop for faculty members, entitled “Academic Advising between Students’ Rights and Advisor’s Duties”.
Presented by both Dr. Abdullah Al-Attani and Dr. Ahmed Al-Mubarak, the workshop addressed several topics:
1. Importance of academic advising
2. Tasks of academic advisor
3. Responsibilities and rights of academic advisor
4. Procedural steps that should be taken by academic advisor to achieve advising goals.
The Vice-Dean for Educational Affairs emphasized that the role of academic advisor should not be merely that of pedagogical, but it should account for other aspects of student’s life such as psychological and social ones.
A hands-on training session was provided by Dr. Mohammed Jad Alrab on how to access the academic portal system.
