A seminar held by the Department of Physics entitled "Health Effects of Nuclear Energy Accidents"

The Department of Physics at the College of Science in Zulfi held a seminar entitled “Health Effects of Nuclear Energy Accidents.”

The seminar was presented by Rawabi Al-Harbi, who talked about the Chornobyl nuclear power plant accident that occurred on 26 April 1986. A nuclear reactor at Unit 4 of the Chornobyl plant released six times more radionuclides into the atmosphere than the Hiroshima atomic bomb.

The disaster caused severe environmental damage and is expected to result in up to 4,000 deaths from leukemia and other cancers. The long-term effects of the Hiroshima atomic explosion and the Chornobyl nuclear disaster on human psychological and health processes were also highlighted
