Within the framework of the visits exchanged between the university different departments, a team from the Department of Mathematics paid a visit to the College of Engineering to learn from the experience of civil and electrical departments in applying for the program-based accreditation from the NCAAA. The team included the head of the department, Dr. Zeyad Al-Hussein, the head of quality and academic accreditation, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mua’asri, Dr. Salah Khafaji, Dr. Mohammed Tengari and Dr. Ismael Tayel. During the visit, the steps taken by the college of engineering to earn the accreditation were discussed such as the preparation of course files, annual reports, self-study report and measurement of performance indicators. Visiting the quality center at the college, the team was briefed about the mechanism of classifying and archiving data related to quality and academic accreditation in effective way. A workshop was conducted by Dr. Abdelrahman Al-Qawasmi and Dr. Sameh Ahmed about quality and academic accreditation, including the experience of the college in the proper way to apply for program-based accreditation, annual report, reports of measuring main performance indicators, improvement plans and self-study of programs. At the end of the meeting, the team had a meeting with the dean of engineering college, Dr. Saleh Al-Dahash who commended the efforts exerted by the team. Dr. Al-Hussein expressed his thanks to the dean and all staff of engineering college for the reception and cooperation.
