A team of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology, headed by the vice-dean, Dr. Majed Al-Awaidi, Dr. Mohammed Baljoon and the head of quality unit, Dr. Ahmed Abobaker, paid a visit to the College of Engineering on Monday.
Welcomed by the dean, Dr. Saleh Al-Dahsh in the presence of the vice-dean for quality and development, Dr. Abdullah Al-Muheisen and members of the quality center, the team discussed mutual cooperation between the two colleges in areas related to quality, development and academic accreditation.
The dean highlighted the importance of such visits to exchange experience in quality, development and academic accreditation, particularly as many of the colleges are preparing to seek the program-based accreditation from NCAAA.
In a visit to the quality center at the college, the team was briefed about its mechanisms of work, including the effective methods of data classification of quality, development and academic accreditation. Samples of manuals and publications made by the college were presented to the team.
A technical workshop on quality, development and academic accreditation was presented by Dr. Abdelrahman Al-Qawasmi, supervisor of study programs and development, Dr. Sameh Ahmed and Dr. Jad Al-Mawla, both from the quality center at the college.
The workshop focused on sharing the experience of the college of engineering with quality and academic accreditation. A wide range of topics were addressed such as how to prepare a self-study report, methods of measuring performance indicators, analysis of surveys for improvement plans, how to qualify programs to apply for academic accreditation, audit and follow-up processes for quality.
At the end of the visit, the team extended their thanks to the college of engineering for the hospitality and the cooperation, hoping further visits would take place in future.
